As the second season of Dragon Ball GT gets under way, Goku is still battling Baby, the last survivor of the Tuffle (originally Tsufrulian) race. It's a relief to the galaxy when Goku's Ultimate Kamehameha Blast sends Baby's ship into the sun. Once Baby's been dispatched, the filmmakers seem to lose their way. The Z Fighters evacuate all the residents of Earth to the Tuffle Planet before the Black Dragon Balls cause the Earth to explode, but the Namekian Dragon Balls restore the planet before anyone's had a chance to miss it. The remainder of the season plays like a "greatest hits" album. Dr. Gero, Frieza, Cell, and Android 17 from seasons 3, 4, and 5 of Dragon Ball Z reappear and are defeated again. Goku reverts to his little boy form, which makes him appear younger than his granddaughter Pan. It seems Goku and his friends have used the Dragon Balls too many times: all the good things they've wished for have been balanced by huge amounts of negative energy retained in the Balls, which crack, releasing the seven nasty Shadow Dragons. Goku and Pan fight them, first one by one, then as a fused super-dragon. Also included is A Hero's Legacy, which aired as a television special in 1997. Set 100 years after the conclusion of Dragon Ball GT, it stars Pan's grandson "Goku, Jr." as a wimpy little boy who's just discovering his Saiyan powers. The special may have been an attempt to revive the franchise yet again, but after more than 500 TV episodes and 13 features, Akira Toriyama's saga of the enchanted Dragon Balls finally concludes with Legacy. (Rated TV PG, suitable for ages 8 and up: violence, violence against women, tobacco use, nudity, toilet humor) --Charles Solomon

5 out of 5 stars If you haven't bought the earlier set, then this is great.   March 13, 2009

Dragon Ball GT: Season Two (Includes A Hero's Legacy movie)

This box set is the best way to go .... if you haven't bought the previous DVD releases. If you have the collection that was 20 bucks for each DVD (with the whopping 3 episodes each), you don't need this .... unless you're a fan of the whole "English voice over the original Japanese music" thing.

This starts with the first appearance of Super Saiyan 4 and ends with the end of DB/DBZ/DBGT.

5 out of 5 stars Great in Comparison....   February 13, 2009

Now before I get started, I have one thing to say, THIS IS NOT A COMPARISON TO DBZ IN ANYWAY!!! Now, onto the review. (Spoilers)

Taking Dragon Ball Gt as it's own series, season two rocked. The first season was blah, but I bought it because I hadn't seen all of them before, and I'm a completest. However, season two blew season one out of the water. Action went up, storyline, after the whole Baby foolishness, was pretty good and believable in the Dragon Ball world. Bringing all of the old villens from Dragon Ball and DBZ had a nice nostalgic quality to it, and although the Super 17 saga was short, it was very good. The Shadow dragon saga was interesting and the final fight against Omega Shenron was very cool.

Many people don't like the ending, but I personally do. It was touching in a way. The same with the movie. It may not have as much action, but compared to other dragonball movies, it had an outstanding plot. Emotional and believable. Another thing that was good was the death of Piccolo. Emotional in the Dragon Ball world is few and far between, but this had it.

Even if you didn't like the first season, pick this one up. It is so much better, especially since its only about 30 dollars.

5 out of 5 stars The last saga, damn!! =[   August 8, 2009

After viewing season one, I can say I feel season two will be a more enjoyable ride for DBZ fans. We finish up the Baby saga with the stunning super saiyan four transformation, leading to one incredible battle if you ask me. Then comes the fate of the earth and Piccolo is actually in the story line for season two and plays a much appreciated role. I really enjoyed the Super 17 saga and the plot was great fun. Android 18's part in the action gives an emotionalside to the saga I felt fitted nicely. The only thing I didn't like about that saga was that it felt much too short, leaving many unanswered questions:how did the two evil doctors get thier bodies back in hell to even create this clone of 17 in the first place?

The Shadow Dragon saga puts the whole concept of relying on the Dragonballs on its head. I felt the first few dragons could've been better looking and a bit more menacing, but the twin brothers and of course Syn Shenron save this problem. The final battle is epic and Vegeta at long last becomes a super saiyan four, and we even have the return of fusion. SS4 Gogeta is my favorite character automatically in this saga no doubt.

The only thing that bothered me is the story relies too much on Goku and no one else, other than my fav Vegeta, ever powers up at all. You would think after Goku reached SS 4 at least one of the other saiyans would reach at least SS3!

Hero's Legacy was a bit disappointing. it had a decent story but nowhere enough action.

5 out of 5 stars Season 2 Review (NO SPOILER!!!!)   January 1, 2010
Son Of The King
I love DBGT!!! This is an awesome Season!
People usually say GT is not that good, now what are they talking about!!?? It's amazingly awesome!!
Noooo!!! Sadly....this is the end of all Dragonball!

The only thing I don't like about this is hat they have some "shadow" monsters & the hell plotline, which is just kind of creepy & a bit weird, almost like if there demons or something, that's the only thing I don't like.
Here are some nonspoiler thing that will go on in this season!

Show baby whos Boss!!
No...Goku!!!
Hurry...there's no time left!!
Piccolo, rethink your decision!!
They are back!! No way!!
You're in big trouble Goku!
The ultimate warrior!?
Where is goku!!?
Not even goku can beat him!!
What.....
Oh no!
How can he beat all 7!!
Goku....Vegeta!!!
No way!!

Haha, that's all I can say to make you hyper, unless you want spoilers....However, some of DB/Z/GT believe in Evolution (like the myth of humans evolving from monkeys) that is my only disagreement since evolution is not true! God made everything according to its kind.

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way & being our Savior!)

Goku trains & helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)

Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him & go His way)

Goku always shows love & mercy even to his enemies & evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin & follow Him)

Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins & following the Will of God)

Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil & when the storms comes, He's still with us)

Everytime it seems hopeless & like evil will prevail & there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)

When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)

Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into & with God then we were before.

When the fighters are fighting & they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us & He always provides help)

DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!

5 out of 5 stars And so it concludes. (Pt. 2 of 2)   May 5, 2010
Underground Reborn (ny)
Throughout the years we have watched one of the most noble and pure hearted men grow from naïve child to fierce warrior. Now we reach the final season of Dragon Ball GT. After handling evil in many shapes and forms, Goku has to defeat his deadliest of all opponents, himself!

After the defeat of Baby and the jump to Super Saiyan 4, all Goku and the gang want to do is relax. Sorry guys you're not out of the woods just yet! Goku has to first take down a few old foes just to find out that the Dragon Balls which has relied upon to bring peace and good to the world have turned against him. Now the balls have broken and each one has released its own evil Shadow Dragon. Each one is stronger than the next and Goku doesn't even know if Super Saiyan 4 can take them down.

While this show has been dumped on by many loyal fans I have to say the ending of this show was quite impressive. Considering that there was only one more season to work with the writers really tried to cram it all in and tie up all the lose ends. Many events and characters from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z play a role in these final few episodes so you will be pretty surprised how it is all incorporated together. I love the fact that after all the adventures that the Z gang has had over the years it was Goku himself that almost cost every one certain doom. In the end of all things Goku makes a Frodo like exit from the world realizing that he is too dangerous to be a part of this world and this time he meant it for good. I liked how the show was just given a strait up ending in Goku's exit and in the end the whole story was really put together quite nicely. I feel that GT is a very important series to watch especially since Dragon Ball Z really didn't seem to be the perfect ending, but GT definitely got it right and the in the end I was satisfied.
